Manchester United legend Paul Scholes expects Radamel Falcao to return to parent club AS Monaco this summer.
Scholes, 40, defended the striker for his patchy form in the North West - highlighting injuries and lack of competitive time for his goal scoring woes.
He said: "You watch the game the other day, you see him coming off the pitch and waving to fans - you have to think that's probably it.
"I don't think he's been as successful as he would like to have been. He's not scored the goals, he's not had the games.
"But you have to say that from an injury point of view it's taken him a while to get back.
"I think with a run of games he will be fine - whether he's at Manchester United or not."
