Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel says English clubs will regret not signing Norwegian whizkid Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard signed for Real Madrid last month after spending time with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Schmeichel told the Daily Star: "I think everybody has missed out on him.
"He's very special, so in a way you could say everyone has missed out on him. He's made his choice and that's that.
"I don't think any club has said that they've got the right to sign him.
"As a parent you take your 16-year-old kid somewhere and you've got to be really sure that you're taking him to the right place.
"I have no idea what the story before was but you have to assume Real Madrid was presenting the best case.
"He's going to be very interesting to watch in the future."
