Schmeichel said: "For me it's a bit of a line to cross.
"Yes, there are exciting things happening at City with all the money but it's also very confusing. If I speak to Sparky about the new owners I would automatically have to speak to him about my son and his situation so I don't do that.
"It's not easy. Kasper is 22 and has to fight his own battles, there's no doubt about that. I'll support him every step of the way.
"Sparky has a very difficult job and I'm not one to put more pressure on him. We're very good friends and it's not fair on him for me to interfere in any kind of way."
