Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy is leaving his role with the Holland national team.

Van Nistelrooy will leave his coaching post at the end of the season to return to PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutchman will work with PSV's U17 and U19 teams.

"I wanted just to be true to myself. I want to work with players every week and be involved in a team. With a national team it is a different story," said Van Nistelrooy.

"It is a decision of personal ambition. The results have nothing to do with it."
