Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has called on Wayne Rooney and Nani to turn it on at FA Cup opponents Manchester City today.
Robson insists main men Rooney and Nani can and must make amends for the shambles at Newcastle.
And he points to the example set by 38-year-old Ryan Giggs, whose brilliance still shines bright in the gloom. Robson, an alarmed spectator at United's 3-0 drubbing on Wednesday, told the Sunday Mirror: "Too many players didn't perform against Newcastle. Rooney and Nani, big players for United, were poor on the night.
"It's a massive cup-tie and there's no doubt a tough one for United. City are a decent team with a strong squad. But we've seen United bounce back so many times before and they can do it again - they have to. Those big players know what's required of them.
"The boss will not have to use his motivational skills to pick them up for this. They'll be right up for it and determined to put one over on City.
"There are still question marks over City's ability to handle the nerves and pressures. That could prove the decisive factor." "United's best player was Giggs, who showed the class and sharpness that he's always had and that the team are going to need at City.
