Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has called on Ander Herrera to step up in the absence of Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman has been sidelined since mid-September with a thigh problem and is listed as one of three long-term fitness concerns in the squad alongside Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“When you get the opportunity, you've got to impress the manager," Robson, discussing Herrera's performance for the 0-0 draw at Liverpool, told the Manchester Evening News. “If you're playing outstandingly well then you're going to keep a place in the team.
“He proved at one time that he can score goals but I think he got on the back foot where he thought he was more of a defender than an attacker."
