Manchester United legend Bryan Robson says Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli will learn to harness his on-field aggression.

Alli served a one-match ban for a middle-fingered gesture during England's recent win over Slovakia, with Robson warning the midfielder he needs to keep his emotions in check.

“You've always got to keep your aggression under control," said Robson to the Mirror. “You go to the white line, but you don't step over that white line.

“It's hard enough playing top teams with 11 against 11, so when you go down to 10 men, they'll invariably beat you.

“But he's learning all the time and he will have taken on board, as he matures, that he's got to control that aggressive side of his game.

“You don't want him to lose that aggression, but you've got to control it and I'm sure he'll take that responsibility on board."
