Manchester United legend Bryan Robson expects Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov to be their first-choice attack next season.

Robbo told the Sunday Mirror: "The gaffer likes to go in with four main strikers and he's obviously looking around because young Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda aren't 100 per cent ready yet. But if Rooney and Berbatov are his first choice strikers they've got to take on the responsibility of making up for the goals Ronaldo scored.

"Rooney will certainly be able to score more if he's not playing wide and tracking back so much.

"In my opinion, down the middle is his best position.

"He is capable of scoring far more goals for United."
