Manchester United legend Gary Neville feels Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini could be playing with dynamite by not giving Carlos Tevez regular start.

Neville, a former team-mate at Manchester United, wrote in his autobiography of how Tevez could not tolerate being in and out of the team.

"He'd been upset by the signing of Berba [Dimitar Berbatov], and Carlos is a player who needs to feel the love. He's not someone who can play one game in three and be happy."

Mancini, however, maintains Tevez has no choice now Sergio Agüero has signed from Atlético Madrid and the Premier League's player of the month, Edin Dzeko, is starting to justify his £27m price tag.

"This season it could be like that [for Tevez]," the manager said. "In the first three games we played Agüero and Edin and the team played very well, and I can't change a team that plays very well."
