Man Utd legend Keane selects his allstar XI - with plenty of 'pals' left out!

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has selected his allstar XI from Old Trafford.

Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs both failed to make Keane's all-star side, picked from players he played with. Gary Neville also misses out as the ex-United skipper turns selector.

Keane, explaining his backline choices on ITV4's Best of Enemies show, said: "Schmeichel is by far the best keeper. Believe it or not we didn't actually get on that well together but [he was] an absolute top top goalkeeper.

"Denis Irwin was good at set pieces, could defend, trained properly, was a good lad and he's Irish which always helps.

"Pallister [is in] for his size, even though after two minutes of a game he looked like he was playing for an hour. He always looked tired.

"Jaap [Stam] was a top centre-half. Paul Parker, I played with when he was at his prime. He was a top, top defender."

Keane went for a four-man midfield including Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Ince, himself and David Beckham but admitted: "If I was gonna leave anybody out it would probably be myself for probably Scholesy."

Eric Cantona and Ruud van Nistelrooy won Keane's vote up front.
