Man Utd legend Keane scoffs at England celebrations after Panama rout

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has scoffed at England fans celebrating their World Cup win over Panama.

Former England internationals Gary Neville and Ian Wright hailed the Three Lions' display and the side's chances of going all the way in Russia.

But former Republic of Ireland midfielder Keane was keen to keep a lid on expectations.

Speaking on ITV, the ex-Manchester United skipper said: "If I was in Gareth's shoes I wouldn't try be too clever. I'm bored with the lads [Wright and Neville] all night, they think England have already won the tournament.

"I would say keep it simple, just focus on the next game. Try and win the next game. Don't worry about last 16, quarter-final, final which these guys have done there.

"Go and win the next game of football. And don't try and please everybody, all the lads from the squad by giving them a game. Try and win the next game of football."
