Roy Keane has advised fans of Liverpool to "lighten up". Keane took a swipe at Liverpool last week after being unimpressed with the club during their Champions League victory over Maribor.
He said about his comments: "It was tongue in cheek. Anyone who has ever spoken to me about football will tell you the huge respect I have for Liverpool. I grew up watching them in the 80s winning leagues every year.
"My comments were tongue in cheek and hopefully people will see it that way. People should lighten up a little."
Liverpool meanwhile are in fifth place on the Premier League standings with 19 points from 11 games. They are already 12 points adrift of runaway League leaders Manchester City and three adrift of fourth placed Chelsea.
Winning the League for Jurgen Klopp's men could already be something that is out of the question. However aiming for a top four finish and Champions League qualification for next season is a realistic target.
