Man Utd legend Keane assured of Ipswich job by Evans

Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has been assured his job is safe.

Manchester United legend Keane had clear-the-air talks with owner Marcus Evans after reacting angrily to speculation that he was about to be sacked.

Multi-millionaire Evans flew by helicopter to the Tractor Boys' training ground on Wednesday for a hush-hush meeting to reassure Keane about his immediate future, says the Daily Mail.

Former Ipswich captain and coach Tony Mowbray, sacked by Celtic in March, has been linked with a return to Portman Road.

But Evans has no plans to axe Keane, who was appointed in April last year with a two-year brief to restore the club to the Premiership.
