Manchester United legend Denis Irwin says their title defence is now over.
Irwin wrote in the Sunday World: "That's it then, Manchester United won't be winning the Premier League this season.
"It's not about the number of points that David Moyes's side finish this weekend behind Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton.
"It's the fact that there are so many good teams between the Red Devils and the summit of the table - you simply can't get the points back on all of them. If United were in second place this morning, 12 points behind the Gunners, I'd fancy them to close the gap by May.
"But they can't and won't catch every club ahead of them in this morning's table."
