Manchester United legend Paul Ince says fans should be excited about the prospect of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho working together.
Ince was part of the Sir Alex Ferguson side which was dragged across the Premier League title-winning line in 1993 by the arrival of catalyst Eric Cantona.
“When you looked down our line up as we marched out and there were figures and characters like Cantona, Roy Keane, Bryan Robson and Peter Schmeichel - you had players who made up a man's team. A team of winners," Ince told the Manchester Evening News.
“Then you had Fergie walking down the touchline as well. I think we beat a lot of teams before we even kicked off. There was a winning mentality and an aura that frightened opponents.
“That aura has gone in recent seasons. Teams could easily take three points at Old Trafford. Nobody was scared when United went to their grounds any more.
“There won't be another Sir Alex again but Jose Mourinho is the nearest you'll get. There is nobody better than him. He's what United have needed."
On Ibra, he added: “He's got the stature like Cantona, the flicks and tricks. He'll puff out his chest and take the whole stage on board like Eric did if he signs. I don't want it to become about him though. You don't want team-mates to be over-awed."
