Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs rates Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti as his toughest opponent.

Giggs admits his battle with the fellow veteran has been ongoing for over 12 years.

"The most difficult opponent I have ever faced was Javier Zanetti. I met him for the first time in '99, the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Him right back, I left wing. HE impressed me for his qualities: fast, powerful, intelligent, experienced.

"I've played against him two more times. He was the toughest opponent of all. A complete player," said Giggs.
