Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson says he was never interested in the Australia job.

Ferguson was asked about the prospect at the launch of his new autobiography.

"Definitely not, I've said that many times once I was finished with United that was me finished with management.

"Some had me at 80-1 to be their next manager. A good price! But I wouldn't be interested in any job."

Australia named Ange Postecoglou as new coach earlier today.
