Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has slammed the past sales of Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck.

David Moyes sold academy product Welbeck to Arsenal for £16m in 2014 while Louis van Gaal sanctioned a permanent move to Bayer Leverkusen for Hernandez a year later.

"I just look at the team and I just think it is so disappointing," he told Sport360.

"You could have Chicharito [Javier Hernandez, who's now at Bayer Leverkusen], Danny Welbeck [now at Arsenal] and Rashford.

"Could you imagine? As a defender, I am sitting here thinking 'there is no rest'."
