Man Utd legend Crerand backs Mourinho to succeed Fergie

Manchester United legend Paddy Crerand believes Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is the man to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson.

Crerand has no doubts that Mourinho has what it takes to make the impossible work.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "Jose has certainly got the charisma and charm to be a United manager.

"And I think he's got the nerve to do it as well. You have seen him at Chelsea. You have seen him here with Real Madrid.

"I don't know if anyone was watching but with two minutes to go on Tuesday night, Jose had that little conversation with Alex before quietly walking down the touchline. That showed a great deal of respect between the two men."
