Andy Cole says he hasn't been put off management after seeing former England teammates Paul Ince (Blackburn) and Tony Adams (Portsmouth) lose their jobs.
The Manchester United legend said: "I am taking my coaching badges and if I am to get involved in that side of things I only really want to do that as a manager.
"Of course what has happened to the likes of Incey and Tony Adams makes you think twice. Incey lost his job after about six months while Tony went after around 14 games.
"It is a scary scenario for people like me who are thinking of going into management but you can't afford to think like that can you. I have always been my own man and if I decide management is what I want to do then that is what I will try to do."
