Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has warned their rivals: the table doesn't lie. United top of the pile after finding their best form in recent weeks.

United director Charlton told the Manchester Evening News: "It is a marathon, of course but we are not having a bad season at United, are we?

"We are doing more than okay. No-one, and certainly not me, should rule out United. There is a long way to go but United, for me, have everything.

"We are better than anything around. The table doesn't lie."
