Manchester United great Eric Cantona believes the USA is capable of winning the World Cup in the next two decades.
The French legend is the director of football with reformed American club New York Cosmos who take on his old club in a testimonial match for ex-teammate Paul Scholes at Old Trafford tomorrow night.
Cantona said that he feels the US have enough scope to improve to be one of the world's best football nations and plans to provide the national team with talent from the Cosmos youth academy.
"New York Cosmos is special, the city is special and the club is special," he told a press-conference in Manchester on Wednesday.
"I think in the next 20 years the US can win the World Cup.
"The last World Cup was won with eight or nine players from the academy of Barcelona and we want to be this kind of club.
"We can buy players but we want to work a lot on young players because there is a lot of young talent in America."
