Former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce rates Antonio Valencia ahead of club hero Andrei Kanchelskis.
Bruce sold Valencia to United as Wigan Athletic manager.
"He's not swashbuckling like Ronaldo. He isn't full of tricks but he is a good old-fashioned winger who wants to go outside defenders and his pace is electric. He has made the position his own. He's grown into a United player, as I suspected he would," Bruce told the Manchester Evening News.
"He does remind me of Andrei Kanchelskis in the United side in the early 90s that I was in. I think Andrei had the edge when it came to speed but I tell you it would have been some race between the two of them!
"But Antonio would get the nod for me because he has terrific work rate and is a fantastic team player."
