Manchester United are launching a bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Daily Express says United have tracked Schweinsteiger, 29, since last summer and incoming coach Louis van Gaal is known to be an admirer.
Thomas Muller's decision to sign a new deal with Bayern this week has cast fresh doubt over Schweinsteiger's future.
United could bid £23 million in the coming weeks to bring the 29 year-old to Old Trafford.
