Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is eyeing Porto fullback Jose Bosingwa for the summer market.
The News of the World says United have lined up a £15million summer swoop for Bosingwa.
The Portugal international has been watched five times by United scouts in recent weeks and Porto say he can go "if we receive an enormous amount of money."
United hope the influence of assistant boss Carlos Quieroz will seal the deal for Bosingwa, 25, who is famed for his pace and crossing ability.
Bosingwa said: "Being linked with United is a positive thing as it means I am performing well.
"United are a sensational club.
"To play next to Cristiano Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani is such a big advantage.
"But until the end of the season I think only of Porto. I want to fight for the Champions League."
