David Beckham admits he is excited about the prospect of bringing a MLS franchise to Miami.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder was in South Florida to take a tour of Florida International University with Bolivian billionaire Marcelo Claure.
There was also a close inspection of the Sun Life Stadium and a meeting with fan group MLS Miami Bid who are backing the move to North America's top flight.
Beckham told CBS4 News: "I think bringing an MLS team here to South Florida would be exciting.
"I think Miami fans are very passionate about the sport and about winning and of course, it would have to be success but it's definitely exciting."
Beckham, who won two MLS Cups with the Galaxy during his six-year stint in LA, has the option to buy into a MLS franchise and appears to be favouring the Miami option.
