Manchester United are watching Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants to sign a new centre-half in the summer and has several quality candidates under consideration, including Belgium international Alderweireld.

Dutch sources say Ferguson has been informed by intermediaries that £10 million would be enough to land Alderweireld, who is tied to Ajax until 2014.
