Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has been hailed as one of the greatest - by the man he took the clean sheets record from.
Former Atletico Madrid keeper Abel Resino held the European record for the longest run without conceding a goal - 1,275 minutes - before the Dutchman passed him in Manchester United's 3-0 win against Fulham.
"I knew that my record would be broken eventually but I personally would have liked to continue a little longer at the top of the list," said Resino.
"But it is a great achievement by Van der Sar. If someone was going to overtake me, it is fitting that it is such a great goalkeeper like he is. No-one can doubt he is one of the best in the world."
