Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has explained why he left Juventus for Fulham earlier in his career.
"It may seem a strange transfer, but as I wanted to play in the Dutch team, I needed to play and Fulham had a good project," said Van der Sar.
"After the first two seasons, things were not going well and I started thinking about looking for an opportunity to reach a top club. My great fortune was to have signed for Manchester United."
