Man Utd keeper Sam Johnstone: I came back for Aston Villa fans

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is delighted with his move to Aston Villa.

The 24-year-old yesterday signed a season-long loan deal from Manchester United and will be available for the pre-season friendly at Shrewsbury Town.

He said: “I think there's more to come from me, definitely.

“I just can't wait to get started again.

“Last year the first few games were difficult but hopefully having already started here it will help me. It was a very easy decision to come back.

“To play in front of over 30,000 every week at Villa Park is great.

“Hopefully this year we can go on and have a good year. We've got a good team and during parts of last year we were unlucky.

“Look at the teams who went up and finished in the playoffs, we proved against some of them that we were the better team."
