Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard was delighted for Nick Powell and Alexander Buttner over their goals against Wigan Athletic.
Left-back Alex Buttner capped his debut with a goal following his late £4m transfer window switch from Vitesse Arnhem in Holland.
Teenager Nick Powell came on as a sub to ram in his own debut strike after signing for the Reds from Crewe for an initial fee of £4m in the early summer.
"It is fantastic for Alex and Nick," said Lindegaard. "Alex is quite similar to Patrice Evra. He is a forward-going full back who always wants to go on the offensive. He makes a lot of runs forward. It makes it a bit easier when you have the same kind of player to the one being replaced.
"It is the same with Nick. He is similar to Michael Carrick, Scholesy and the other midfield players. It helps with the continuity of the team."
