Man Utd keeper Lindegaard: 3-5-2 works for us

Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard has welcomed Louis van Gaal's new 3-5-2 system.

The Reds have played in a 3-5-2 formation during Tour 2014, presented by Aon, and the Dane has been learning about the importance of the goalkeeper in the new system.

"I've played in a [back three] system before and I feel positively towards it," the 30-year-old told ManUtd.com.

"Like all other players, the goalkeeper has to adapt. Certain aspects of the game are more important than before and our whole approach to the new system tells me how much the goalkeeper's role has evolved in recent years, from being just a shot-stopper to so much more than that. That's what expected of us now."
