Man Utd keeper Kuszczak plays down Cup heroics

Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has played down his impressive form in their Carling Cup win at Scunthorpe United.

The Polish international stopper was bombarded with efforts from the Iron's scattergun approach, making a string of saves to frustrate the hosts and ultimately picking up Sky Sports' man of the match award.

"Ok, I had some shots to save but on a few occasions I could have done a little bit better," Kuszczak told Sky Sports, in his post-match interview.

"The ball moved and shots were really difficult to catch so I decided to punch or take them away. But if you give me man of the match, I'll take it!

"It was a busy night. Some shots gave me some problems but this is football, we all make mistakes. The most important thing is we won the game tonight."
