Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was satisfied with his loan debut at Yeovil Town in defeat to Burnley.

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was satisfied with his loan debut at Yeovil Town in defeat to Burnley.

It was a testing afternoon for the goalkeeper, who was beaten at his near post by Keith Treacy’s cross-shot in the 74th minute to set Burnley on their way to a 2-0 win.

He said afterwards: "I’m grateful for the manager to put his trust into a young goalkeeper and hopefully I can repay him. I didn’t find it too bad and some of the experience I’ve had on loan at Walsall has helped me."

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson added: "Sam looked very solid but just got caught out as it was windy. He'll be OK."
