Man Utd keeper Foster in new injury setback

Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has suffered a thumb injury.

Foster, 25, broke a thumb in training on Thursday and will be left behind when Sir Alex Ferguson and his stars travel to Tokyo.

United will take youngster Ben Amos as a back-up keeper, and for Foster the injury is another setback in a week which saw No.1 keeper Edwin Van der Sar sign a one-year contract extension.
