Man Utd keeper De Gea: Spanish players more valued in England

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea feels more valued in England than Spain.

De Gea also believes he isn't alone, with so many of his Spain teammates now playing abroad.

He explained: "Not only me, all of us who leave Spain sincerely are not followed as much as in Spanish football.

"They do not follow us so much and people forget a little about us. Also for the culture of England, the players are respected and loved. Those of us who leave Spanish football are forgotten a little bit, but we try to be there and try to talk."

For Spain's friendly with Russia, former Atletico Madrid keeper De Gea insists they'll take it seriously.

"We will have to play very well to win. And it's an important match for us to continue improving as a team."
