Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is delighted to be proving his value.

As United prepare to host local rivals Manchester City in Monday's derby showdown at Old Trafford, De Gea revealed how playing regularly had brought out the best in him.

"I'm feeling well, in good shape and I'm at ease on the pitch," said De Gea. "I've played a lot of matches but I get plenty of rest at home and I eat well - it's important to look after myself.

"I'm more confident and feel I'm playing consistently because I've had a prolonged run in the team.

"But training well and having a good mental attitude brings its rewards.

"Everything you put in, you get out. That is what you're seeing now - I'm very happy with how I'm playing."
