Man Utd keen to follow Celtic and introduce standing area at Old Trafford

Manchester United are believed to be considering a standing section for Old Trafford.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, United sent a delegation over to Glasgow to take a closer look at the safe standing area Celtic have installed at Celtic Park.

It is understood that United chiefs are not fully committed to the idea but are contemplating a 3,000-capacity standing section if it can be done legally and feasibly.

United are open to introducing a very small amount of rail seating just as Celtic have done at Parkhead but the issue will be debated at a Red Devils fans forum next month.

Old Trafford's J Stand is the expected destination for the change if it eventually occurs.
