Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
The Mirror says United are understood to have made fresh contact with representatives of Nice midfielder Seri this week, amid suggestions Paul Pogba could be ready to end his second spell at Old Trafford after just two years.
The Ivory Coast midfielder is seen as the complete central midfielder with an all-round game, adept at attacking and defending, which manager Jose Mourinho demands of all his players, and is equipped with an impressive passing range.
United have been monitoring Seri for many months and sent a member of their scouting team to watch him in action in the Europa League earlier this month.
The 26-year-old has a £35million buy-out clause in his contract and, with Pogba's future uncertain and Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini leaving this summer, Mourinho wants Seri to bolster his midfield this summer
