Man Utd in strong position as Oxford delays West Ham deal

Reece Oxford has reportedly stalled signing a new deal with West Ham United.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the highly talented 17-year-old has put Manchester United on red alert by failing to extend with the East Londoners as of yet.

Oxford is out of contract at the end of the current season but is unsure of his future at the London Stadium, which has the Red Devils in a strong position.

United have been showing interest in the central defender, who can operate in central midfield, for some time and are intent on luring him to Old Trafford as soon as they can.

However, Jose Mourinho and co. may have to wait as West Ham are determined to tie down the England U20 international to a long-term deal, provided they can agree terms with the starlet who has previously been compared to Rio Ferdinand.
