Man Utd icon Keane: What I'd say to Ferguson...

Manchester United legend Roy Keane admits he'd give Sir Alex Ferguson both barrels if they came across eachother.

Keane still bristles over the way he was portrayed in Ferguson's book last year.

The Irishman told the BBC's Football Focus: "If I met Ferguson now, I would probably have a go at him. I'd ask him, 'Why are you talking nonsense about me and the lads who won stuff for you?'

"In fairness, he'd probably say, 'Go take a running jump'.

"But I just don't see why we should sit back and accept what he has to say time after time.

"I am 43 years of age. Am I supposed to be frightened of him? It doesn't keep me awake at night worrying about him and I don't mind people being critical of me but, when it is lies, well, that is a big difference.

"The bottom line is we have won a few trophies for him, made millions of pounds for him, got statues built for him and stands named after him and he thinks he can criticise us.

"He thinks he has all this power. Nobody ever questions him.

"So I thought, 'Why should I sit back and take all this nonsense?'

"Some people are frightened to death of him; the media and ex-team-mates of mine.

"Why should I put up with that?"
