Manchester United's preparations for tonight's Champions League clash at Barcelona are in chaos after Nemanja Vidic was rushed to hospital yesterday.

The Daily Mail says United's Serbian central defender took no part in preparations at the Nou Camp on Tuesday, along with fellow defender Wes Brown who was also absent from the first team squad.

It was initially thought that Vidic had succumbed to the knee complaint that he suffered in Rome three weeks ago and kept him out of action for a fortnight.

But it was suggested in Spain late last night that the defender had in fact visited a Barcelona hospital for treatment after going down with a stomach problem.
