Manchester United are expected to hold onto young fullback Danny Simpson.

Simpson spent last season on-loan at Sunderland and was wanted again for next term by Black Cats boss Roy Keane.

However, it appears Simpson has won over United manager Sir Alex Ferguson with Keane entering the market yesterday to sign Reading fullback Greg Halford for £3 million.
