Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke believes Wayne Rooney would already be sold if Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
David Moyes, who took over from Ferguson this summer, is keen to keep Rooney but the transfer saga has been rumbling on all summer.
Yorke said: "I think the matter would have been resolved by now one way or the other. I feel he would have probably let him go by now.
"I know how brilliant he is but I think with all that Fergie came out and said - he said Wayne Rooney asked for a transfer, not playing him at key games at the right time, I think all of that would have built up."
