Man Utd hero Macari: Well, at least Chelsea, Liverpool trips now out of way

Manchester United hero Lou Macari believes they can get their campaign back on track after consecutive defeats at Chelsea and Liverpool.

United are now at home for the next three games: Arsenal in the FA Cup, Marseille in the Champions League and Bolton Wanderers in the league - after one win and two defeats in the last three, all away.

"I don't care who you play, three away games in a row are tough," said Macari, after Sunday's 3-1 loss at Anfield, to manutd.com. "But if you're playing against Chelsea and Liverpool in that run, there's always a chance you'll come unstuck in one of them or even two as we have done.

"So I don't think it's the biggest shock to have lost both games. We didn't play very well today and Liverpool were, without doubt, the better side.

"I'm normally quite confident when we go to Anfield that we're going to win but I wasn't today because of all the disruptions to the team. It's a big ask to go there and win without your two first-choice centre-halves and I just feared that with Liverpool starting to play better under Kenny Dalglish, it wasn't going to be our day."
