Former Manchester United captain Lou Macari has slammed the Bosman laws.
Macari explained in The Sentinel: "I'm no Burnley fan, but it made me sick last week to see a newspaper photo of Danny Ings heading out to Spain to talk over a lucrative move to join David Moyes at Real Sociedad.
"He was quite within his rights, of course, because players in the final few months of their contract are free to sign for another club.
"So I don't blame Ings or his agent, they are just taking advantage of the rules.
"I blame the fools who thought up that rule some years ago because they clearly had no feeling or understanding of the game.
"Whoever they are, they should be identified and given the boot if they are still in positions of power."
