Manchester United hero Nicky Butt makes his playing return today.
Butt is set to play his first trial game for South China FC on Tuesday.
The former Manchester United and Newcastle midfielder flew out to Hong Kong before the weekend on a fact-finding mission with a view to signing a short-term deal.
Butt, who quit the English game at the end of last season, looks set to sign a three-month deal.
The 35-year-old ex- England international has spent the past week training with the team in preparation for South China FC's First Division game against local club TSW Pegasus at the Hong Kong Stadium.
He said: "I'm very excited to come over to South China to play football,' during a photo session to unveil his No.12 jersey 'I've experienced a lot of things in my football career, I've had a lot of highs. Hopefully this will be another one.
"This is an exciting challenge for me. It's a new culture, it's a new place. It ticks all the boxes. I can bring my children over here and experience a new culture. Hopefully it'll be settled in the next two or three days."
