Man Utd have battled against odds to take title to final day - Sir Alex

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says they've battled against the odds to take the title race to the final day.

Considering that nightmare week and long-term injuries to key players such as Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, Fergie is happy to have taken the title race to the last day.

He said: "I think it's amazing. When Ferdinand and Vidic are playing every week you see the stability, authority and experience that gives you.

"It's not been the case this season. Rio's only had 11 games.

"The moments of fragility were in that period when we were playing Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick in those central defensive positions and lost 3-0 at Fulham.

"But we've made a fist of it, we've taken it to the last game of the season. We can't ask for more."
