Manchester United are rewarding a testimonial to Rio Ferdinand.

The Telegraph says Ferdinand will be handed the opportunity to earn up to £2 million from a testimonial at Manchester United this year, even if he leaves the club at the end of his contract this summer.

It is understood that such a game would be sanctioned by Manchester United, even if Ferdinand moves at the end of this season.
