Manchester United are handing defender Scott Wootton a new contract.
The People says United are giving young centre-half Wootton a new two-year contract as a reward for his progress.
The 19-year-old has been a stand-out for the reserves - also enjoying two successful loan spells at League One Tranmere - and boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to tie him down as he closes in on the first-team squad.
Wootton was snapped up from Liverpool after falling out with Academy management.
